The zero of the function is for x = 0. Put the value of x to the equation

y = -7x + 8:

[tex]-7x + 8 = 0[/tex]        subtract 8 from both sides

[tex]-7x =-8[/tex]       divide both sides by (-7)

[tex]\boxed{x=\dfrac{8}{7}}[/tex]
