A force of gravity between the sun and its planets holds the planets in orbit around the sun. If that force of gravity suddenly disappeared , in what kind of a path would the planets move. The planets would continue moving in a straight line out into space tangent to their orbit about the sun. The planets would continue to orbit the sun. The planets would collapse into the sun. The planets would stop moving and stay where they were when gravity was shut off.
