If you determine during the CHECK that the scene is unsafe:
Go to the child anyway. You have to try to give care, even if it means getting hurt yourself.
Don't do anything until the scene becomes safe.
Move yourself and the child to a safe place, if possible. If you cannot get to the child, get help.
Try to remove whatever is making the scene unsafe
